The Esk Academy of Dancing

The ideal centre for dance, our facility contains two spacios studios, complete with mirrors, barres and sprung floors. The Montrose Dance Centre was officially opened in March 1987 by the late John Field CBE, former Artistic Director of the Royal Ballet.

The Academy is run on two levels:
Fun classes to keep fit and enjoy the social aspect.
Serious classes where training is taken to professional level.
In all classes, correct training is of paramount importance to ensure healthy bodies and minds are maintained and encouraged.

General

The Esk Academy of Dancing was founded by the Principal Miss Beryl Couper, who has trained and danced professionally in Edinburgh and London. Miss Couper has directed International Dance Workshops over the years with Artistic Directors worldwide and has taught and examined extensively as far afield as Australia and New Zealand.
